About UsWe are a family winery since 1650 located in the small village of Pfaffenheim, 12km south of Colmar, the capital of Alsace wines. We own approximately 8 hectares of vineyards. The vines are located on three different villages: Pfaffenheim, Gueberschwihr and Rouffach. We, Michel and my wife Odile, work together in the vineyard and administration, along with my retired parents: Romain & Etiennette. My sister Valerie, who has been living in Canada for 20 years, also works in the wine business. |

The family produces 20 different wines coming from the typical range of the best Alsace wines: Pinot Blanc, Muscat, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer.
Grand Cru Steinert is produced only with Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. Riesling Grand Cru Steinert has been planted and will be ready in just over 2 years! Vendanges Tardives (late harvest) and Sélection de Grains Nobles are produced only in best years. We have been part of the 'Vigneron Indépendant' organization for more than 20 years. The logo is proudly displayed on each of our bottles!
Every year, our wines receive awards in France, in the Guide Hachette and Dussert & Gerber, and in the famous Bettane & Desseauve guide. At the Kuentz winery, everything is made to encourage sustainable
development: recycling of cardboard, paper, plastic and glass. The vineyard is all cultivated with grass and a very low pesticides is used. During the entire the process of vinification, intervention is reduced at its minimum. Grape pomace is collected, then sent to a company specialized in methanisation. Since vintage 2019. we are certified HVE III, Haute Valeur Environementale. Our official organic certified wine is starting from vintage 2023! |
